Pharmapod Community Christmas Countdown
Over the next 14 days we will share an important community message each morning to highlight some of the wonderful work, much of it voluntary, that is done in communities across Ireland. Hopefully this will highlight the work you yourself may do, or help inspire you to support those less fortunate this Christmas.
As we grow older basic household tasks can become very difficult to manage. Tasks such as cleaning, checking smoke alarms, wrapping presents, and putting up decorations can be very challenging and put the person at risk of falls or injury. Bringing fuel in from a shed, into somewhere accessbible inside is a very simple task but it could mean the difference between a stay in hospital and spending Christmas at home for an older person.

This Christmas please consider if you can help an older neighbour, or someone who is unwell. The Care & Repair Programme run by Age Action can also help. The vision of the programme is to enable older and vulnerable people to remain in their own homes, in their own communities, living as independently as possible, through the improvement of their housing conditions and their level of comfort, security and well-being.
