Pharmapod CEO helps launch NDRC & UCDs exciting new Future Health Accelerator Programme

Our CEO Leonora, helped launch the @NDRC and @UCD‘s exciting new Future Health Accelerator Programme yesterday. 

FutureHealth, is  a new early stage start-up programme in Dublin focused on the digital-health sector. NDRC and UCD and are currently calling on clinicians, researchers and technologists to come on board.

The programme will have places for 10 teams over an eight-week period and will help new start-ups build and develop their commercial proposition.FutureHealth is a part-time programme, with a core commitment of nine full days over 8 weeks beginning 6th February, 2015 on site at NDRC in Dublin 8. Hot-desks will be available at NDRC’s headquarters throughout the programme for people who wish to commit more time to working on their startup. 

The programme is sponsored by Ernst & Young, Enterprise Ireland and ICON Clinical Research (ICON), all of whom recognise the potential for Irish companies to drive the global healthcare revolution over the next 10 years, potentially impacting billions of people with advanced health-tech solutions.  

“Healthcare is being revolutionised by cutting-edge technologies, like data analytics, biotechnology, 3D printing, robotics and sensors,” explained Dr Helen McBreen, venture leader at NDRC. “Today scientific and technology advances happening in Ireland have the potential to make huge impacts on health and wellness, diagnostics and therapeutics globally. This brings massive opportunities to create viable new businesses in Ireland. Based on NDRC’s track record in the health-tech space to date, with portfolio companies such as MuteButton, Pharmapod, Clearsight Innovations and Silvercloud Health, our aim is to find individuals with disruptive health ideas and to build teams who can bring digitally orientated health technologies to the marketplace”.

 

The closing date for applications is next Thursday 15th January
