As we enter into the August, pharmacists across Ireland are beginning their preparations to fill out the Pharmacy Assessment System for the second half of 2018. The Pharmacy Assessment System is a self-audit tool for pharmacies. It provides a practical way for the supervising pharmacist, superintendent pharmacist and pharmacy owner(s), in conjunction with their pharmacy team, to critically review their pharmacy's practice, validate and record good practice and identify areas where improvements are required. UK Pharmacy Order to be enacted this April.

The Pharmacy Order  This April 2018, the Pharmacy (Preparation and Dispensing Errors- Registered Pharmacies Order 2018) has provisionally come into force making changes to the Medicines Act 1968.  Passed by the Houses of Lords and Commons last December, the order provides new defences for inadvertent preparation and dispensing errors made by registered pharmacy professionals (registered pharmacists and registered pharmacy technicians, or those supervised by them) working in registered retail pharmacy businesses. IPU Conference 2018

The Pharmapod team had a fantastic time attending the IPU conference at the end of April. Since it’s creation 8 years ago, the Conference has grown from strength to strength.
