Pharmapod Office Opening
The Pharmapod Team were delighted to welcome colleagues and friends to our Office Opening last Tuesday. There was a great turnout despite the awful rain. The evening was a great way to mark recent events, with the people who have helped to make it all happen.
We were privileged to have the Office Opened officially by Niamh Bushnell, Startup Commissioner for Dublin and Tom McGuinn, Chief Policy Advisor at the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland.
Pharmapod as a startup has come a long way in just two years. There are now 10 team members working in the Leeson St Office and Leonora was named as the Entrepreneur of the Year at the Irish Tatler Woman of the Year Awards in Dublin, just three days before the opening.
Pharmapod has won two national tenders with the Royal College of Surgeons and the newly-established Irish Institute of Pharmacy (IIOP) which was founded to promote excellence in the areas of patient care, professional standards, education and research in pharmacy practice. The tenders involve creating products that will drive excellence in the profession of pharmacy. The first is the Core Competency Self-Assessment Tool (CCSAT) which will be accessible to all pharmacists in Ireland to self-assess their core competencies and identify their professional development needs.
The second tender was for the development of a National Training Programme for Superintendent Pharmacists which adds value to all superintendents, addressing the core learnings needed to carry out their role effectively.
The Pharmapod Team will now focus on building on the growth of the Global Incident Reporting and Learning System (GRLS) and preparing for rollout internationally, starting with the UK early in the New Year.
