Pharmapod CEO announced to speak at HPAI Conference 2016

Pharmapod founder and CEO, Leonora O’Brien, has been announced as a speaker at this year’s Hospital Pharmacists Association of Ireland Conference. The HPAI hold an annual educational conference and this year it will be taking place on the 8th – 10th of April in the Crown Plaza Hotel, Santry, Dublin.

The HPAI is a voluntary organisation that represents its members on issues relevant to hospital pharmacies. Their aim is to further the development of hospital pharmacy practices, assist in the provision of continuing pharmaceutical education, represent the views of the hospital pharmacists on issues relevant to them and advance the professional welfare of their members.

Over the weekend, there will also be a number workshops taking place. This year there will be a workshop on “Safety Identification and Prioritisation of Medication-Related Risks in an Acute Hospital”. The workshop will be facilitated by Eileen Relihan and Brid Ryan. Eileen is the Medication Safety Facilitator in St.James’s Hospital and Brid is the Aseptic Compounding Service Manager in Mater Misericordae University Hospital. The key learning objectives will be to apply a comprehensive process for the detection of medication risks, undertake risk stratification of medication-related concerns and plan for the challenges, efficiencies and opportunities e-perscribing will offer in relation to risk recognition and resources utilisation.

Leonora will be speaking on Sunday at 11:15am. Pharmapod will also be attending the conference so make sure to come to our stand and say hi!
