IPU Conference 2018

The Pharmapod team had a fantastic time attending the IPU conference at the end of April. Since it’s creation 8 years ago, the Conference has grown from strength to strength. It has become a national event for pharmacists whereby attendees can network with each other, bringing together shared experiences and learnings. With nationally and internationally renowned speakers in attendance the conference was attended by many pharmacists up and down the country.

This year the conference took place in the Sunny South East in the Clayton Hotel, Wexford. Speakers at the conference provided an international dimension with the CEO of the American Pharmacists Association Thomas E. Menighan participating. Learning about the differences between US and Irish pharmacy can help Irish pharmacists to learn about differing practices and procedures which are more prevalent in the US pharmacy setting but less so in the Irish one and put them into practice in their pharmacy environment.

Members of the Pharmapod team attended the conference, showcasing all of the new features that have been recently added to the system. It was great to meet so many customers. Members of the team were on hand to assist with all types of queries surrounding the system.

It also gave us the opportunity to promote our ‘Faces of Patient Safety’ Campaign. Thank you to all of our current customers who took part in the filming. They participated in a questions & answers filming session with members of our team. This session will help to  bring more attention to the role which pharmacists play in the maintenance and improvement of patient safety everyday.

We found this year was another great success and we are already looking forward to next year’s conference!
